New Port Agreement

Tulsa, OK – Officials representing the Tulsa Port of Catoosa and a Kansas development agency sign a new partnership agreement.

The City of Tulsa-Rogers County Port Authority and the Kansas Logistics Park Development Authority, signed the deal Tuesday at the Oklahoma Maritime Education Center facility.

Tulsa, OK – Okla. nursing student receives 'hero' award

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A nursing student from Tulsa is being honored by emergency officials after she performed CPR on a boy who nearly drowned in a backyard swimming pool.

Oral Roberts University student Montika Collins was presented Wednesday with the Tulsa Emergency Medical Services Authority's "Everyday Hero" award.

Tulsa, OK – As the board overseeing trash pickup in Tulsa moves toward a new contract, a proposal to strip the panel of its' authority is scheduled for action tomorrow. City Councilor Bill Christiansen is author of an ordinance to move oversight from the TARE board to the city. He says arguments against the change don't hold water

The TARE board is poised to seek bids on a new ten-year trash hauling contract. The current agreement with private collectors expires next summer.

Fort Worth, TX – American Airlines orders 460 new planes

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) American Airlines is buying at least 460 new planes over the next five years and splitting the order between aerospace giants Boeing and Airbus.

American's parent, AMR Corp., said Wednesday it will buy 260 planes from Airbus and 200 from Boeing. It will also take options and purchase rights for up to 465 additional planes through 2025.

BGA at Eufaula

Tulsa, OK – The Army Corp of Engineers turns up more Blue-Green Algae. The Corp's Ross Adkins says the Gentry Cove area is now infected on Lake Eufaula. The Corp is urging people to stay out of the water in that area.

Adkins says they continue to monitor all of the Corp lakes. The Taylor Ferry Swim Beach on Fort Gibson Lake remains closed because of high concentrations of the algae.
