Oklahoma City, OK – Okla. death toll from heat wave climbs to 9
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) An official with the state medical examiner's office says the death toll from the heat wave now stands at nine, with autopsies pending on seven more possible cases of heat death.
Spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard said a 57-year-old man discovered inside his northwest Oklahoma City home Tuesday evening with no electricity or water is the latest confirmed heat-related death. The temperature in Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. Tuesday was nearly 103 degrees.

DHS Commissioner Steven Dow doesn't believe the hike is legal, because fees cannot be raised when the legislature is not in session. The DHS claims this is a co-payment; not a fee.
Tulsa, OK – Tulsa lawmaker says Okla pensions among top issues
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A state House committee has planned four interim studies on Oklahoma's public pension systems.
Tulsa Rep. Seneca Scott is among a dozen members of the House Select Oversight Committee on Pensions. Scott says the committee has an important job in fulfilling the state's commitment to public employees.
The interim studies will examine how pension investments are handled, ways to reduce unfunded liability and pension funding formulas.
