Tulsa, OK – Over 300 inmates at the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center have become ill since Wednesday. Symptoms of the illness include stomach cramps and diarrhea. Tulsa County Health Department officials were notified and have been at the facility Thursday and today, conducting tests of food and water, interviewing ill inmates, and conferring with the facility's on-site medical staff.
Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council votes to over ride the Mayor. Mayor Bartlett had vetoed the council's resolution of no confidence in acting city attorney David Pauling. Councilman John Eagleton made the over-ride motion last night.
Councilman Rick Westcott says the vote was about Pauling and his skills, and not about poking the mayor with a sharp stick.
Pauling says he has no intention of stepping down.
Tulsa, OK – 4 more people die of flu complications in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma State Department of Health says four more influenza-associated deaths have been reported to the agency, bringing the number of deaths this flu season to 12.
Officials announced Thursday that two of the deaths were in the 19-64 age group and two occurred in the 65 years or older group. Two of the deaths were in Oklahoma County, one was in Canadian County and the other was in Tulsa County.
