Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Corporation Commission will hold a hearing in June on a utility company's request to recover about $17 million in costs from last year's ice storm that knocked out power to about 68,000 homes. If the request is approved, customers of American Electric Power-Public Service Company of Oklahoma would pay about 85 cents more per month for every 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity they use.

Fire Danger Increasing

Tulsa, OK – Oklahoma Forestry Services (OFS) reports that a large portion of Oklahoma remains under a Red Flag Warning until 8 p.m. this evening. This warning is in effect for counties in southwestern and eastern Oklahoma.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Senate officials are unveiling the latest piece of artwork at the Oklahoma Capitol a portrait of Oklahoma artist Charles Banks Wilson.

The painting by Oklahoma artist Mike Wimmer will be dedicated Wednesday afternoon in the Senate chamber.

Winter Storm Financial Relief

Oklahoma City, OK – Fallin seeks disaster declaration for winter storm

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) With damage estimates from a February storm that pounded Oklahoma topping $8.7 million, Gov. Mary Fallin is requesting a major disaster declaration.

Fallin announced Tuesday she has asked federal authorities to issue a formal declaration.

Wild Fires Near Tulsa

Tulsa, OK – More grass fires reported in Oklahoma

ALEX, Okla. (AP) Authorities battled a series of grass fires yesterday that have charred more than 700 acres and burned at least two structures.

No injuries or evacuations were reported, but a mobile home park toward Bixby, near Tulsa, was threatened.

The largest fire burned in northern Okmulgee County before it was contained. To the south, fires burned structures in Marlow and Grady counties.
