Oklahoma City, OK – Audit requested of state dollars for museum
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State Senator Patrick Anderson is asking for an audit of state dollars used to build the American Indian Cultural Center and Museum.
Anderson's request on Friday came a day after committee approval of a bill authorizing up to $40 million in state bond money for the museum that's being built along downtown Oklahoma City's river front.
Jay, OK – Okla inmate killed himself after escaping jail
JAY, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says one of two Delaware County inmates who escaped custody after beating two jailers fatally shot himself as sheriff's deputies closed in on him.
The OSBI said Thursday officers encountered Devin Martin and Kyle Sutton at a roadblock on U.S. 59 late Wednesday. They were driving a vehicle stolen from one of the jailers that had a firearm inside.
Officers exchanged gunfire with pair and Martin was grazed.
Collinsville, OK – Engine power loss probable cause of Okla crash
COLLINSVILLE, Okla. (AP) A National Transportation Safety Board reports says a loss of engine power is the probable cause of an accident that killed a Broken Arrow man and his mother, but the man's decision to make a 180-degree turn at a low level contributed to the accident last year.
Forty-nine-year-old Kevin Covell and 83-year-old Charlotte Covell died in the May 29 crash near Collinsville.
