SPECIAL REPORT: Jet Incident at Tulsa International

Tulsa, OK – No one is injured as a Delta Airlines jet with 47-people on board slips off the taxiway at Tulsa International Airport. The incident happened as the Atlanta bound 6:00AM flight was headed toward take-off. The jet became stuck in the grass just off the taxiway.

Tulsa Airports Vice President Alexi Higgins says the passengers were all taken off the jet without incident. The bags were also removed. The passengers are being placed on other flights to their destination.

Wagoner Police Shooting

Wagoner, OK – A Coweta man is dead after allegedly attacking a Wagoner police officer with a knife. The officer shot and killed the man inside the McDonald's in Wagoner at the intersection of Highway 69 and 51.

Henderson on Stand

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa Police Officer Jeff Henderson lashes out at federal investigators from the witness stand.

He took the stand in his own defense in the Tulsa Police Corruption trail. He calls the investigation that led to indictments against him sloppy.

He told the jury with just a little leg work the investigators could have seen the flaws in the statements of those who testified against him.

Joplin Tornado Update

Joplin, MO – For the first time since an E-F-5 tornado raked Joplin, killing over 150-people, school has resumed.

The public high school was destroyed by the May tornado. The high school has been relocated at a vacant big box store at the Northpark Mall.


The tornado destroyed five other Joplin schools as well. Classes are even being held in a vacant industrial park warehouse.

Another Afghanistan Death

Oklahoma City, OK – th Oklahoma soldier dies in Afghanistan

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A Porter man has become the eighth Oklahoma soldier to die in less than a month while serving in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense and the Oklahoma Army National Guard announced Wednesday that Spc. Joshua Michael Seals died Tuesday in a non-combat related incident in Paktia Province, Afghanistan.

Officials didn't specify what type of incident occurred.

Fatal Fire

Tulsa, OK – A father and son die in a mobile home fire. Police responded to a call around 1am to find the home engulfed in flames.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Joanne Sellers says they are survived by a mother who had left the house for work that evening.

Tulsa, OK – More Oklahoma children than ever before are living in poverty.
The latest statistics from Kids Count show a 16 percent increase in the number of Oklahoma children living in poverty. The director of Tulsa's Parent-Child Center, Desiree Doherty, says more must be done to care for the state's youngest and most vulnerable

While showing slight improvement in some areas, Oklahoma remains one of the worst states in the country for child well-being.

Oklahoma City, OK – Okla. legislative water study panel to begin work

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A legislative panel tasked with planning Oklahoma's water policy for the next 50 years is holding its inaugural meeting.

The 16-member committee will meet Wednesday in the House chamber. The panel is expected to focus on existing water law, interstate compacts and the role of Native American tribes and treaties.
