Oklahoma City, OK – Okla. lottery officials looking for winners

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State lottery officials are looking for Oklahoma's newest millionaire.

Oklahoma Lottery officials said Thursday that a Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million was purchased at Stripes convenience store in Lawton. The winning numbers from Tuesday's drawing were 3, 20, 43, 47 and 52, with a Mega Ball of 26.

Officials say by choosing the multiplier, which was 4, the owner's winnings increased from $250,000 to $1 million.

Dollar Thirfty New Bid

New York City, NY – NEW YORK (AP)-- Avis raised its offer for Dollar Thrifty to $1.52 billion in cash and stock Thursday, one week before a scheduled vote by shareholders on a bid from rival car rental company Hertz.

The latest offer from Avis values Dollar Thrifty at $53 per share, compared with a $50 per-share offer from Hertz.

The rental-car rivals are fighting for control of Dollar Thrifty, a chain known for lower rates that appeal to leisure travelers, to gain access to those customers.

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa based Spartan Engineering is accepted into the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program and the firm announced today its plans to hire an additional 200-employees over the next five years.

Spartan does energy related engineering. The company says salaries will depend on the position, but generally should be in the 30-to-60-thousand dollar range.

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa's Eric Hurd has an extra $400. He won the cash as the four-millionth recycler at the Pepsi Dream recycling machine at Reasor's. He says he started recycling after his young daughter was born.

The Dream Machine is a reverse vending machine. You put in your empty bottle when you are finished. It is a partnership with PepsiCo and Waste Management. The check was presented at the 71st and Sheridan Reasor's Supermarket.

Water On in BA

Broken Arrow, OK – The water is flowing again in Broken Arrow. That was not the case 24-hours when a major water line ruptured. Broken Arrow City Spokeswoman Stephanie Higgins says it took several hours to make the repairs. What caused the line to break is still a mystery.

The break left 95,000 people without morning showers and closed the Broken Arrow schools for the day.

Gun Running Allegations

Tulsa, OK – 2 indicted in Okla. gunrunning case

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A federal grand jury has indicted two men in an illegal gunrunning case involving a former Oklahoma narcotics agent.

Lewisville, Texas, resident Gregorio Morales-Martinez and Jorge Blanco of Stillwater were charged Wednesday with conspiracy to illegally purchase 43 firearms in Oklahoma and transfer them to Texas. Officials say some were then smuggled into Mexico.
