CNG http://publicradiotulsa.org en Compressed Natural Gas Site Opens for Oklahoma Trucks http://publicradiotulsa.org/post/compressed-natural-gas-site-opens-oklahoma-trucks <p>OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A truck stop chain has opened its first compressed natural gas facility for heavy-duty trucks in Oklahoma.</p><div><p>Love's Travel Stops opened the facility Monday on Interstate 40 at the Morgan Road exit in Oklahoma City.</p><p>The Oklahoma City-based company says the CNG filling station demonstrates its commitment to offering natural gas as an alternative fuel for the trucking industry. The city built a replica of a 1920's Shell Station that was located on Owasso's Main Street, until it was demolished in 1974. Mary Fallin and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper. Fallin announced the release of the request on Tuesday.</p><p>Thirteen states signed the original agreement to purchase CNG vehicles for use in state fleets.
